CURATOR STATEMENT

By Permit Only, an exhibition that takes the unauthorized postering methods of street artists and gives permission and empowers artists to take this new method of street conversations to the museum level. Ten artists will be asked to translate their specific visual vocabulary into large graphic posters that will be wheat-pasted inside and outside the gallery, illustrating the alternating impacts art has whether on the gallery wall or the façade of an alley wall. The commissioned artwork will be site specific and intentionally juxtapose high and low concerns.
